We have started a Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions reporting process in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 14064-01:2019 standard. Through the analysis of direct and indirect emissions (Scope 3), we have created a detailed inventory that is the starting point for strategies aimed at reducing our carbon footprint and achieving Carbon Neutrality.

In 2023, our Elsa Family Farm achieved SQNPI (National Quality System of Integrated Production) certification, which guarantees farming practices that respect the environment and the health of workers and consumers. Thanks to this achievement, we have certified the entire production chain, resulting in the first Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP made with 100% sustainable grapes from our vineyards.

1.6 MWh

self-generated energy sold to the grid

We have developed a partnership with a company that specializes in paper recycling, allowing us to recover the reels of silicon paper used for labels. In 2023 alone, thanks to this initiative, we have recycled about 7,600 kilograms of paper that would otherwise have ended up in non-sorting waste.

Thanks to a partnership with an agro-industrial company in our district, production waste is valorized for the production of biogas, fertilizer, and water for spraying, transforming residues into new useful resources.

We have installed a photovoltaic system at our production site in Solara, capable of generating 170,000 kWh per year. In addition, thanks to a cogenerator powered by vegetable oils, we are able to self-produce about 1.6 MWh of energy, part of which is fed into the grid. Prior to the activation of the plant, our energy needs were fully covered by a supplier who guaranteed 100% renewable electricity.

We believe that sports unite and do good, which is why we sponsor the Bomporto soccer team, Solarese, and support a charity sports tournament every year that aims to promote activities to support the neediest families.

Last but not least, we collaborate with local high schools and universities. We host students from agricultural institutes in school-to-work alternation, organize frequent visits and open-days of our vinegar factory dedicated to schools, and collaborate on specific research projects and workshops with universities.
